Ah, Baths and Sleep

Man I just dont know what to say about Daisy. Mom gave us baths yesterday. Do we feel good? Mom got so annoyed with Daisy cause she scratches all the time. I don't do that. Since the landlady waits so long to cut the grass who knows what lurks in it. A while back we got new flea collars. So we only have an occasional flea. Mom even changed the laundry detergent cause Daisy scratches so much. We have a nice shampoo with some kind of thing in it that makes our fur so soft. I feel good. But Daisy keeps scratching. I think maybe she is allergic to something in this house. I don't scratch like she does.

I never used to like baths. But since I'm older now, that warm water sure feels good. Even Daisy has learned not to argue. I think she may even like it. But she'll never tell. Then of course after we were dry we climbed into the chair with Mom. I usually don't like to lie in Mom's arms lie a baby. Lady likes to do that. But I felt so relaxed. Daisy went to sleep beside Mom. Mom put me in her arms and rubbed my belly. Ah, that's the life. Wait a minute, I feel drowsy. I think I am going to sle z-z-z-z

The Big Bed Again

Mom is going to be alone again this week. Dad had to go to Austin. He wont be back until Thursday or Friday. That means Lady and I have to entertain Mom. Lady will be spending a lot of time in Mom's lap and I will pull all my toys off the chair and bring them to Mom. That does not mean that I will play with then all but they will all be at Mom's feet. Maybe I can get her to throw the ball for me. Of course that may make Lady mad. But I keep trying to tell Lady that she needs to come down and play with me. She just growls.

And when Mom goes to bed we will take over the whole bed. We usually try to sneak in between Mom and Dad. Lady always sleeps on Daddy's arm. I like to get down under the covers by Mom's legs. Then she usually gets mad cause she cant turn over. Ha. Now at least for a few days we can take over the other side of the bed. I'll be bouncing around and going under the covers and messing up the pillows. Lady will have to wait in the chair for Mom to pick her up and put her on the bed. Lady used to have some stairs to use but we dont have enough room to use them here. Is it time to go to bed yet Mom?

Daisy is now known on Daddy's poker table as the Lush. Jan is always talking about how cute and friendly Daisy and I are. Well of course. Daisy thinks everyone in the immediate world should stop what they are doing and pay attention to her. I have to be the voice of reason. I try to make sure that Mom and Dad know I want to keep the interlopers at bay. Of course Daisy is the one with the mouth. She still barks at everything. Yeah, too bad she couldn't scare off those guys who broke into Daddy's truck. Oh well. How come Jan didn't give me a nickname? All she talks about is the Lush. I am so much more refined than that. Actually I'm just too lazy to get out of my chair to try to sneak a lap of wine. But I did get an idea the other day. I thought I would take a short cut from Daddy's chair to Mom's by walking across the table between the chairs. Mom would not let me though. Come on Mom. Daisy's nickname is the lush, mine could be table walker. Right. Hey Mom. Come here and let me snuggle next to you. I promise I won't knock over your coffee or try to drink it.

I Tried to Tell You

Mom and Dad are upset right now. When Dad went out to his truck to go to work this morning, he discovered that someone broke into his truck. They stole $1500 in equipment. Boy was he mad.

I tried to tell them. I woke up in the middle of the night. I even got off the bed and went to the bedroom door and barked. I'm not sure but I think I heard those mean guys. Mom said she heard a noise too. I wish I could have stopped them. Now Dad is going to have to see if the boss will buy some new tools! Grrr!!!

Daisy and Jan and Wine

Last week Mom and Dad had a visitor. Jan is one of Dad's online poker friends. She lives near Washington DC. She came down for a few days. Well, Daisy, being Daisy, sucked up to Jan. It seems they have something in common. They both like wine. Me, I don't care for it. Whenever Jan would sit down with a glass of wine, there was Daisy. Jan would pet and hug her. Yeah that was nice, but Daisy had her own agenda. Wine! Daisy loves wine. That's why Mom does not leave her wine glass anywhere unguarded. I don't know how many times Mom has left her glass on the end table only to find Daisy slurping up the wine. Of course Daisy always looks so innocent. Jan soon discovered that she had to be on guard too. Daisy kept trying to sneek her nose under Jan's hand to get to the wine. It didn't take long for Jan to figure out what Daisy wanted. Daisy would look at Jan with those big brown eyes...sigh. At least I can take comfort in the fact that Daisy did not get any. Jan outsmarted her. I think Daisy is a lush at heart. Not me, that wine would put me to sleep...snore- Lady.
