Just What is That!

Uh, Mom? What is that? It keeps moving. Why are you sitting on it? Can I smell it? It smell funny. It looks like my ball, but it is giagantic! Yipes, it is coming for me. What do I do? Run or fight? Hum, if I push it with my nose it moves. I'll show it who is boss. Why is Lady laughing at me? Oh,crap, Mom pushed it at me. I'll show it my tough side, I'll bark at it. Nothing. I snort, then I yelp. No fair, Mom, dont push that thing at me. Ok, let's see. I can push it or I can bite it. Hum. What to do. Quit laughing Lady. For right now I think I'll stay over here and keep an eye on it.If it moves toward me, I'm outta here. Yeah, I can do this. Just stay a couple of feet away. I am in charge. Aw, Mom what did you do that for? What do you mean it is just an exercise ball. You're going to do what with it? That's ok, I'll just stay over here while you play with that big ball. Now if it moves into my territory...

Ah, That's Better, yawn!

I feel better now. I haven't been scratching so as much lately. Mom got me some Benadryl last week. She and Dad and Lady got tired of me itching and scratching all the time. So Mom got the small dose of 25mg pills and cuts them in half. Of course I tried to spit them out at first, but Mom was too smart. The only problem for me was that they made me sleepy. I was taking them every other day and snoozed most of the day. I guess Lady was happy about that. But, Mom decided to give the pill to me at night. She is sneaky. She put that thing in a treat. How dumb for me. I thought it tasted good. Boy, was I fooled. I do feel better now. But I still don't want to go in the grass around our house. I'd rather go in the street.

Stair Master

Now I am in control. Noone can get past me. Not even Mom! Certainly not Daisy! I have blocked the stairs. I have picked a stair a little more than halfway up and have decided to lie here as the Stair Master. I can see all things below me and nothing gets past me!

Hey, Lady, move over!

No, go away!

Why?

Cause you will try to get in my way!

No I wont.

Daisy, we both know that you will get up here and try to get on the step above me. You always want to be higher than I am. You do it to me when we sit with Mom and you are not going to do it now!

Man, you're no fun, Lady. What was that noise?

Daisy you dummy, that was Mom doing the laundry.

Oh, well, ok, just as long as she doesn't want to wash me.

What's that, Mom? What do you mean I have to move? I am guarding the house from my lofty position as Stair Master. Why do you have to come down stairs now? What's that? You are going to get Daisy to give her a bath? Run Daisy!

Thanks Lady, that was close. I guess it's ok for you to be the Stair Master. But when do I get to be the Stair Master?

If you have to ask, then you do not know when you will be qualified for the job! It takes years of practice and a keen eye for detail and a nose for news.

Naw, it doesn't. You just got higher on the stairs than I did!

Watch it, kid. I can push you off! Oh sorry, Mom, did you want to get by? I'll move. But don't let Daisy up here...please. I promise I'll be good.

Sorry Mom, I'm On Strike

It is bad enough that this week has been so hot but I refuse to do my stuff in the yard any more. You can't make me! You can pull me over to the grass but I will hop over it to a spot with no grass! Listen to me Mom. I would rather go in the street than go in the grass! I won't even walk in the grass strips between the parking lots. Have you noticed that I have it takes me a long time to find just the right place? I know you think I am crazy. Occasionally I will pee in the low grass, if it has been recently mowed. But I don't like it when you want me to walk through the yard. I know you saw those wasps flying around the grass. I know you have complained that the grass is always way too high for Lady and me. I know it is hot outside. I'll pee in the short grass by the door. Please don't be mad if I want to walk all the way down the street to do my other business. Ok, Love You, Mom, but I'm still on strike until they cut the yard!
